Monument Environments delivers school and council projects across the Inner West, working as principal contractor from its office in Revesby. Its work in the area ranges from a whole-of-school landscape to amenities on a heritage building.
Edgeware School, Hurlstone Park
Monument delivered a whole-of-school landscape and civil works project at Edgeware School, including a new emergency vehicle driveway. The project was staged so the school kept operating safely.
The driveway and its road-opening permits are explained in how an emergency vehicle driveway is built at a school.
Concord Public School
At Concord Public School, Monument upgraded the toilet amenities to new facilities standards on a heritage building, while respecting its heritage fabric. Modern services and accessibility had to fit inside a building whose original materials and detailing were being kept.
The approach is covered in how heritage school buildings are refurbished.
Ashbury Public School
Monument carried out sports court upgrades at Ashbury Public School. A court upgrade of this kind usually replaces the existing surface with a new concrete base, acrylic surfacing, line marking and fixed sports equipment.
Beaman Park, Earlwood
For the City of Canterbury Bankstown, Monument delivered the Beaman Park amenities at Earlwood. The relationship with that council goes back to its first panel win in 2012, and its other projects include the Parry Park amenity buildings at Lakemba and the Roberts Park Clubhouse at Greenacre.
Work in a live reserve means the open parts of the park stay usable while the construction zone is fenced off. That method is set out in how a public park stays open during construction.
Older suburbs and tight sites
Much of this area was built up long ago, so sites come with old buildings, narrow streets and houses close to the boundary. A delivery truck or an early start gets noticed quickly when the neighbours are that close.
Those limits go into the plan from the start, with delivery times and access worked out before anyone arrives on site, and a contact name given to the neighbours for the busiest days. Constrained sites with no laydown area covers how materials are handled when there is nowhere to store them.
Engagement
Monument is prequalified under NSW Government Scheme SCM 0256 (up to $1M) and NSW Government Scheme SCM 1461 ($1M to $9M), and it is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Schools and councils can engage it through those schemes, through the panels it is admitted to, or directly.
The office is at Unit 32, 2B Mavis Street, Revesby NSW 2212, open by appointment, and the phone number is (02) 7205 7405.
