Who delivers school construction projects in St George and the Sutherland Shire?

Monument Environments, from its office in Revesby. Its school work in the area includes the Georges River College Peakhurst and Penshurst amenity and changeroom upgrades, the Connells Point Public School accessible chair-lift, the Como West Public School staff amenities and asphalt resurfacing at Athelstane Public School in Arncliffe.

Monument's office is in Revesby. Its school work for the NSW Department of Education includes several projects in the St George area and the Sutherland Shire.

Each of these projects was planned around a school that kept running, or a holiday window that could not move.

Georges River College, Peakhurst and Penshurst

Monument upgraded the amenities and changerooms at both the Peakhurst and Penshurst campuses of Georges River College. Both projects ran over the end-of-year holidays and were handed over on time, ready for Day 1, Term 1.

Work on a fixed holiday window depends on the planning done before the break. The scope is settled, materials are ordered and the sequence is set so construction runs straight through. How that works is covered in how works are delivered in the school holidays for a Day 1 Term 1 handover.

Connells Point Public School

At Connells Point Public School, Monument installed an accessible chair-lift. It gives compliant access from the school hall to the stage for all staff, students and anyone using the hall.

Access works like this are done while the hall stays in use. The approach is set out in how accessible ramps and chair-lifts are installed in schools.

Como West Public School

At Como West Public School, Monument completed the staff amenities during normal operating hours. Work like that relies on keeping the work area sealed off from staff and keeping working toilets available somewhere on site for the whole job.

More on refurbishing staff spaces is in how a school staffroom or administration building is refurbished.

Athelstane Public School, Arncliffe

At Athelstane Public School in Arncliffe, Monument carried out asphalt resurfacing during term. Resurfacing with students on site relies on secure fencing and full-time supervision that spots every machinery movement.

The method for resurfacing a playground with the school open is covered in how asphalt resurfacing is done on a live school playground.
